Equatorial Guinea is underdeveloped and aid is vital to get such projects as there are off the ground. Planning and implementation, however, have proved difficult due to the lack of skilled labor, inefficiencies and instances of corruption.
The EU, especially France, Italy and Spain, the World Bank, IMF and Arab funds are all important sources of aid. The Chinese have also provided project aid to Equatorial Guinea.
